Jaxton is 1 month!

The time since we have left the hospital has gone by fast and slow.

Both sets of grandparents have done so much for us this month and we are so grateful!

Both my parents have watched Jax numerous times and I am so grateful. My mom has been so incredibly helpful. We were all sick last week and she helped us so much by just letting Dallin and I sleep and we also went out with Dallin's work for a company party. Thank you so much!

Sleep, colic, and illnesses have made life a bit rough, but as I was watching the Mormon Tabernacle sing silent night at 1:00 a.m. this morning, I couldn't help but be so grateful for my wonderful family!

I think I can understand Mary's awe just a little as she looked at our Savior as he slept. After such a tumultuous birth, I can't imagine how hard hers was! I truly think that a baby sleeping is the most beautiful thing in the world and I truly am so grateful for the time I can look at Jaxton and feel his sweet spirit! I am so much closer to my Heavenly Father because of parenthood.

I am so grateful to my best friend Dallin who has been the BEST father ever. I don't think I have ever seen such a loving father and husband!

We are so blessed to have wonderful family and friends! We are also so blessed to have a knowledge of the gospel.

Life after the hospital

Finally I have a minute now to write about after giving birth to Jaxton.

We were in the hospital from Monday night to Friday. Everyone was pretty good there to us and we were so glad to be home.

My mom stayed with us for the first 5 days or so. She was such a big help and Dallin was able to work from home and didn't go back to work at the office until the 1st of December. We were so blessed to have that blessing!

The Parkers came out on the 23rd and stayed until the 27th and we were able to celebrate Jaxton's blessing on Grandpa Parker's birthday 11/25 and we had a big Thanksgiving the next day with 50 people!

Jaxton loves to pull lots of funny faces and keep us on our toes. Since he has gotten home, here have been a few milestones he has hit:

first t.v. show was seinfield
first song is "Jaxton Dear"
1st surgery on the 11th
We came home on the 13th
Went to the Dr. on the 14th and his cries sound like uh-uh
first smile was on the 15th
first bath on the 16th
1st frown and outing on the 17th
First restaurant I-HOP on the 25th, trip to the mall and baby blessing
First wave to Grandpa Parker and Thanksgiving on the 26th
Started following objects on the 27th
Rolled over from tummy to back on the 28th
First long time without Mama the 5th and stayed with Nana and Papa
First snow the 6th

Baby Jaxton Dallin

He is here! We are so overjoyed at the arrival of our precious baby boy. It has been a crazy journey to get here, but so worth every moment!

I was starting to get very frustrated last friday because we had no progress and he had not dropped at all! I had Dallin give me a blessing. I was told that my water would break and that I would have the baby soon, but not immediately.

I had a feeling that he might come the next week. So on Monday, I went with my mom to go get a pedicure and to take her to the dentist afterwords. I started having lots of contractions but nothing too painful. I had told my mom and Dallin that I definitely wouldn't be having the baby that day but I thought maybe the next day or so. I dropped off my mom at the dentist and she does sedation dentistry so I figured I might go the the library. I was having a hard time walking but felt ok. I went back to the dentist and they told me that she might be a while longer. So I sat on the couch and just relaxed with a book.

Not more than a minute later my pants felt a bit wet. My water had just barely broke, but I was still a bit unsure. So I told my sedated mom and I went to the car to call the dr. She told me to get to the hospital. I was in American Fork and needed to get to Provo. I called Dallin and he immediately came up to get me. I had to have Zach Erekson ( a neighbor boy) and his friend come get my mom.

We got to the hospital around 4 with no labor pains and I kept saying to Dallin, "what if this is a fake, I am going to feel so dumb!" They checked to see if my water was broken with a ph strip and it was. They tried for an hour to get ahold of the dr, and then I started to get really bad back labor. While waiting for the dr., they decided to do an ultrasound just to check things and we are so grateful that they did. At first they didn't know what they were seeing but then they saw that he was indian style (legs folded) breech. On friday we were told he was in position, so of course we were very shocked.

That is when they started talking c-section. Since I wasn't dilated, we thought we would be in labor a long time. But in that moment, they were wanting to do a c-section as soon as possible. We waited a long time for the dr.

The dr. thought that maybe I had an infection because there was still quite a bit of water showing on the ultrasound, so she thought maybe they could flip him. But they found out that my water had broken and they wanted to do a c-section right away. I was starting to panic because it was all so quick.

The "pain dr" came in the start an IV. This is where things got REALLY BAD!!!!!!!! They had two specialist have to come in to get an IV in and it still took them 9 times to get it in and many massive brusies that are softball sized.

Than we had the epidural. They tried for at least an hour went 4 times and put me into major shock before they wore out that space in my back and had to do a spinal. Then I passed out and was ran into the operating room. I was the sickest I had ever been with an extreme headache and nausea and was in serious shock! and I felt most of the c-section but was too sick to care. But than things got so much better!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I heard our baby let out a little cry. He was born and November 9, 2009 at 8:46 p.m. My love for him and Dallin grew so much that very second. My Dr. than hollerd out that he was a red head and that he wet all over the dr.s.

Dallin than got to bathe him while they fixed me up. I was still in shock and shaking like crazy. They then took me to the room where Holly Erekson, my mom and Ashley Erekson kept me company. I loved holding him for the first time and Dallin got a lot of time to bond with him. I stayed up with him most of the night even holding his binki in for him so he would be comfortable.

I will blog about the hospital stay and his first night home a little later.

39 weeks

We have made it somehow. Through all of the morning sickness and all of the many many discomforts we are now at the end.

We were told by the Dr. that we will be induced around the 23rd and I am thinking am hoping that we will not have to go there.

I have been given a series of blessings which have given us so much hope. Things will be happening very soon and we are so excited to have this little man join our family!

38 weeks and overcooked

Ok, so I am not really overcooked but I am sure feeling like it!

Made it to full term and I am basically miserable and we are so glad that there will be an angel boy in our home soon. That is keeping us going!

We are measuring full term so why won't he come out? :)

Life has been crazy lately. Sarah Prince made her journey on this earth complete on Friday and is now relieved of the cancer. That morning before the Dr.'s appointment, I had the thought that Sarah was going to help send Jaxton down to us. She passed a few hours later.

I have enjoyed being pregnant but now I am so ready to be done. Wish us luck that he will come very soon!
